Gadget Preview: RIM’s “BlackPad”

. Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Readers may remember my previous post about the iPad and other Tablets (this one) , a few days later a friend told me about another tablet that is going to be made by Research In Motion, Blackberry’s mother company. Concept pictures were spreading around the internet and since there was no official move or statement from RIM themselves I didn’t quite think it was true.

Now however, I have seen it with my own eyes! ending all speculation about it’s existence and it’s name (Blackpad or Black Book?). It’s real and it’s going to be out very soon!

Introducing the Blackberry Play Book;

Should this come out, I am tipping it to out take Apple’s current iPad, that is unless Apple step up it’s game (which is highly expected) and introduce a better version of the iPad with all the missing features this time around integrated in the newer versions. The one thing I’d like to see is how Blackberry will compete with Apple in terms of  apps and games. Apple’s iPad has the large library of apps found in the iTunes Store, Blackberry has a miniature of that in the form of Blackberry World App. Will need to work on that field since arguably the best thing about the iPads are it’s apps and games!

I want it just as bad, but I'm a little skeptical about it's battery life and it's actual speed in opening and closing apps
