Tuesday Champions League game night held a real bizarre incident. Real Madrid we’re on cruise control with the score line 4-0 for the Bernabeu outfit on Ajax grounds. On added time, two red cards were shown to Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos for wasting time.
On live TV it looked very stupid of those two to get sent off in that manner, or was it? Replays showed how Jose Mourinho may have orchestrated this whole play and had them deliberately get sent off.
Why you ask? because the mastermind tactician that is Mourinho knew his team guaranteed qualification for the next round with only one game in hand. Getting them sent off now will have them serve one game ban (a game in which the score doesn’t matter since Madrid are already through to the next round) and then have their records swiped clean to avoid suspensions in the round 16 & above!
Hats off to Jose what a genius!
